I'll Do it for HIM

The theme for Trek is, “I’ll Do It for Him.“ As we go through life, we have to figure out many things that will help us grow and develop ourselves in becoming who we are. Often we are left with the question “Why?” am I doing what I do? Why do I get up every morning? Why do I go to school, or work or Church? We can ask that question to ourselves on anything we do and if we did not have a good reason why, then we probably wouldn’t do it, right?

As each of you are searching for the answers to your life's questions, remember James 1:5-6: "5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."
There is so much information in the world that can be obtained at lightning speed. If we wanted quick information about something, we would probably use Google and over 8 billion sites of information would be available within seconds. Is Google always 100% correct? If we wanted to learn how to play golf and had the opportunity to learn from Tiger Woods, wouldn’t you take that over an untrusted source on Google? You would know that he spoke truth.
When you are wanting to know know “WHY” you are here and what purpose you serve on this earth, would you look to Google for your answers? The best resource would be straight from someone who is in the light and is a trusted expert, God Our Heavenly Father. The answers you are seeking may not be lightning fast like Google but we testify they will come.
Elder Holland said, "Honestly acknowledge your questions and your concerns, but first and forever fan the flame of your faith, because all things are possible to them that believe." Elder Uchtdorf said, “Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith”.
We pray that each of you will come to Trek with your questions. Even bring a list of the questions you would have God answer. Put him to the test and open your heart and mind to receive this knowledge. We testify that God keeps his promises. If you trust him and ask in faith with real intent, he will answer you. He answered another teenager’s question in a sacred grove, he will answer you.
Lyrics from our theme song help us to remember “Why” we Trek at this time. “Why, did they cross the plains and follow Him? Why, did they leave their nets and follow Him? Why, should I change my life and follow Him? Why, did Christ endure our pain? He never said it’d be easy, still He’ll never make us do it alone. He said, ‘Take my yoke upon you,’ and though it’s heavy it will guide you home. HE DID IT FOR ME. So, I’ll Do It for Him!”
We love you and pray for you! We know this is a crucial “Trek” in your life at this time and know the grand blessings you will be given throughout your life because you participated.
